Music Scholarship
Scholarships are offered annually to Marshall University students, or recent graduates of the school. Though required only to commit to weekly attendance at Sanctuary Choir rehearsals and 10:30 a.m. Sunday service, most scholarship students participate in other musical endeavors at Johnson Memorial such Handbell Choir and recitals. Scholarship awards are based upon the recommendation of the Music Director and the approval of the Music Committee.
Located only six (6) blocks away from Marshall’s main Huntington campus and offering both traditional and alternative worship services, JM is an ideal setting for any college student looking for a church home away from home. For more information, please contact Bruce Rous (304) 525-8116.
Jeffrey Ohl Scholarship
The Jeffrey C. Ohl Education Scholarship is a special ministry for the college-age young adults of Johnson Memorial. It is an expression of faith in the high ideals exemplified by Jeff’s life and provides financial aid to help further advanced education, either academic or vocational. Anyone interested in the application process may call the church office for information. The applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee in order to select a recipient. The results are announced in early May. The scholarship is for one year, but students can reapply. The deadline for applications is March 31 of each year.
