JMUMC 2017 Alternative Giving Fair


Johnson Memorial’s Alternative Giving Fair gives members an opportunity to celebrate teh brith of Jesus through monetary gifts to our community. Please make checks payable to Johnson Meorial UMC.¬† The causes supported by this year’s fiar are:

  • Aqueous Solutions – Enables third world communities to have safe drinking water in a reliable, sustainable manner
  • Boy Scout Troop 20 – JMUMC is this troop’s sponsor
  • Bereavement dinners – Purchase of food for gatherings following funeral services
  • Common Grounds – People from all walks of life come together for community, faith and prayer, and a free meal. We extend Christ’s love to feed mind, body, and soul
  • Flower Fund – purchase of planting materials for the garden and church exterior
  • Ebenezer Community Outreach – United Methodist mission project providing quality all day and after school child care especially for those families¬†in need
  • Ebenezer Medical Center – Helps to provide prescriptions, diabetic testing supplies and other medical items for people in need
  • Jeff Ohl Scholarship – Provides college funds for Johnson Memorial’s high school seniors
  • Jim Ray Memorial Fund – JMUMC memorial fund to help less fortunate in the community
  • Lily’s Place – Provides medical care to newborns sufering from prenatal drug exposure; offers family support services. Gifts used for baby supplies, operational costs.
  • Music Scholarships – Provides scholarship money for Marshall students in the choir
  • Pack for the Future – Provides weekend meals for children in need. $25 covers seven meals; $100 supports one child for a month’s worth of weekend meals.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry – Provides prayer shawls for Hospice patients and JM family for bereavement or celebrations such as a new baby or graduation.
  • UMCOR – 100% of United Methodist Committee on Relief funds go to emergency relief, resettlement and rehabilitation.
