Music

Johnson Memorial’s Music Ministry provides opportunity for persons of all ages to witness to their faith by worshiping and praising God through music. Our

Music Ministry has three primary purposes:

  • To enhance the congregation’s worship of God by preparing thoughtfully chosen and carefully prepared music of all styles.
  • To provide persons of all ages the opportunity to increase their musical skills and express their faith through music.
  • To present music that expresses our faith to the Huntington community through sponsorship of special programs by our musicians and by visiting groups.

The music program is led by Director of Music, Bruce Rous.

Music Ensembles at Johnson Memorial

The Music Ministry at Johnson Memorial is active, even during the pandemic.  Please contact the Director of Music, Bruce Rous, to find out how you can become involved.

During non-pandemic times, the music ministry includes several opportunities to become involved.  The Sanctuary Choir participates weekly in the church’s morning worship service.  The JM Bell Choir adds its ringing to worship 8-10 times per year as well as during Special Music offerings.

Johnson Memorial has a long tradition of offering Music Scholarships to Marshall University music students.  JM Youth and Children also add their voices and gifts to the music program at JM.
